Tollefson Funeral Home

Tollefson age 86 of Alexandria died on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Grand Arbor in Alexandria, MN.  A Celebration of his Life will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria, MN.  Inurnment will be in Kinkead Cemetery with military honors.Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. www.andersonfuneral.net... Funeral services were held Friday, March 30 at First Lutheran Church with Pastor Joyce Tollefson Capp officiating.Casket bearers were Shade Whitner, Jerry Rood, Ivan Finzen, Hunter Whitner, Eugene Rood and Tom Steffes.Interment was in Old Woodlawn Cemetery, Pipestone.Karen Jolene (Schnepf) Rood was born to William and Marie (Brink) Schnepf on June 3, 1954. Karen and her family lived in Ihlen while Karen attended school in Pipestone. She graduated from Pipestone High School in 1972. She took some time off before attending the Pipestone Vocational school, receiving a certificate in bookkeeping in 1976.She married Kenneth Rood on July 2, 1977 at the First Lutheran Church in Pipestone. The couple  purchased a home in Pipestone, where they raised their family. After an accident, Karen moved into the Slayton Rehabilitation Center on Nov. 29, 2017.Karen was a member of the First Lutheran Church.She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth “Ken” Rood, Pipestone; her son, Chad (Latricia) Schnepf, Grain Valley, Mo.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two siblings, Joan DeWitte, Pipestone and Robert Schnepf, Madison, S.D.She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie and twin siblings, Paul and Patti.(Hartquist Funeral Home,Pipestone Chapel)...
